On January 1, 2022, I began the Reintroduction Phase of the Whole30. At this point, I don’t know which of the restrictive foods caused my health issues. In this phase, every two days, I’m supposed to introduce one of these foods to my diet. Pay attention to how my body responds; if there is no adverse reaction, it is ok to add this food back into the meal plan. I find it a little scary to reintroduce foods I omitted for 30 days and experience definite healthy improvements.
It’s my responsibility to get back on the Whole30. If I have an unfavorable reaction, I know not to include this food back into my diet. If I choose to partake in this food again, I understand and accept the consequences.
Please take a look at my first reintroduction meal: roasted seasoned cauliflower, cucumber slices and, avocado. I introduced blue cheese dressing and had no adverse reaction. The next day I did the unthinkable I ate a piece of cheesecake. Twenty minutes later, I felt the return of the thickness of phlegm in my throat. Sweets are off-limit!
This post will be the last Whole30 newsletter. However, I will continue updating and adding healthful information to Make Food Medicine A Journey!
